Patriot arrives with enormous expectations. Bringing together Mammootty, Mohanlal, Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, and several other talented actors, the film has all the ingredients of a blockbuster political spy thriller. Unfortunately, the final product is far less impressive than its star-studded cast suggests.

The story revolves around a large-scale surveillance conspiracy involving spyware allegedly installed through government-sponsored student laptop schemes. As the conspiracy unfolds, political figures become involved, murders take place, and a chain of events leads to an international espionage thriller.

While the premise sounds relevant and timely, the execution raises more questions than it answers. The film expects viewers to accept several highly improbable events without much explanation. If you're someone who enjoys questioning the logic behind political thrillers, many scenes may leave you unconvinced.

One of the film's biggest shortcomings is its underutilization of the cast. Nayanthara's role is surprisingly limited, and several supporting characters are given very little opportunity to leave a lasting impression. Even with so many talented performers, the screenplay rarely allows them to shine.

The action and suspense sequences are entertaining on the surface, but many key moments feel unrealistic. Characters survive impossible situations, escape impossible odds, and overcome obstacles with very little believable explanation. The film often prioritizes cinematic heroism over realism.

That said, Patriot is not completely unwatchable. Fans of Mammootty and Mohanlal will enjoy seeing these legendary actors share screen space. Their presence alone adds value to the experience and keeps the film engaging enough for a one-time watch.

If you're looking for a film to enjoy casually with family or friends without overanalyzing the plot, Patriot can be entertaining. However, viewers expecting a tightly written, realistic, and gripping spy thriller may be disappointed.

Verdict: Watch it for the legendary cast and the spectacle. Skip it if you're looking for a logical and deeply engaging thriller. There are better Malayalam, Indian, and international films in this genre.
