The third episode reveals the truth behind the land dispute and explains why Jaansi's family has become the target. In the final episode, both the kidnapping case and the land dispute are resolved successfully. After watching Episodes 73 to 76 of The Resort, I can say this week's episodes are among the most interesting so far. Several long-pending mysteries are finally answered, emotional moments are handled well, and the episodes end with multiple cliffhangers that make me excited for next week's release.

Story

The biggest highlight of these episodes is the revelation of what actually happened to Chidambaram. From the beginning of the series, viewers have been waiting to know why he never returned to his family, why he remained in jail, and what really led to that situation.

These episodes finally answer those questions. We get to see how Chidambaram ended up in jail, who was responsible behind the scenes, why he never revealed the truth, and why nobody came looking for him during that period. It is satisfying to finally receive answers after so many episodes, making this one of the strongest portions of the story so far.

Another important track focuses on Rajan and Rhea. Rajan finally opens up about his feelings for Rhea. What impressed me most was the writing of this scene. Instead of a typical cinematic proposal, the conversation feels genuine and natural. Writer Vijay Kumar deserves appreciation for presenting emotions through realistic dialogue rather than exaggerated romance. The confession scene feels heartfelt and believable.

Meanwhile, Nedumaran discovers the reason behind the negative review connected to the pantry. His ego becomes more evident as he wants the pantry to come under his kitchen so that he can defeat Vetri. Since the pantry is generating huge success despite being much smaller than the kitchen, Nedumaran finds it difficult to accept that success. His determination to take control of the pantry creates another interesting conflict.

On the other hand, Aishu's past returns unexpectedly when her former boyfriend visits the resort. He is also a chef and explains the reasons why he disappeared from her life for so many years. This creates emotional confusion and opens another interesting storyline.

The Priya-Veni subplot also moves forward. Priya secretly enters a room and takes photographs, making her intentions look suspicious. Veni notices her actions and realizes that something is not right. This storyline may become important in the coming episodes.

Multiple Cliffhangers

The episodes conclude with several cliffhangers that keep the audience engaged.

The first major cliffhanger revolves around Chidambaram's past. Now that the truth has come out, the consequences of those past events begin affecting Nedumaran. It appears that he wants history to repeat itself by making Chidambaram cook once again. What happens next remains to be seen.

Another cliffhanger is Rajan and Rhea's relationship. Rajan has finally confessed his feelings, but whether Rhea accepts them or not is still unknown.

Comedy

Another positive aspect is the comedy involving Pandi. His scenes provide light-hearted entertainment between the emotional and serious moments. I personally feel the makers should include even more humour in future episodes. A few extra comedy scenes would make the series even more enjoyable instead of focusing only on emotional drama and sentiment.

Season 2 Thoughts

The director has mentioned that there could be a Season 2. Personally, I feel it would be better if the current storyline reaches a satisfying conclusion within Season 1 itself. Season 2 could then introduce a fresh story instead of stretching the same plot unnecessarily. Ultimately, it depends on the writer and director, so we will have to wait and see how they handle it.

After watching Peddi, I walked out with mixed feelings. The film has a powerful star in Ram Charan, a talented technical team led by director Buchi Babu Sana and music composer A. R. Rahman, and an interesting premise involving sports and social justice. Unfortunately, despite these strengths, the film never reaches the emotional heights it promises.

The biggest positive is undoubtedly Ram Charan, who carries the film with complete dedication. However, the screenplay, romance, and emotional execution leave plenty of room for improvement.

Story

The story is set in a rural village where people struggle for basic recognition and government support. The villagers lack proper identity documents and transportation facilities, and even though trains pass through their village, they never stop there.

At its core, the film is about the villagers' fight for dignity, recognition, and equal opportunities.

The story also follows Ram Charan's character, Peddi, through different phases of his life as he participates in cricket, wrestling, and athletics. Along the way, he faces personal and social challenges while trying to bring change to his village.

On paper, this sounds like a strong emotional sports drama. Unfortunately, I felt the screenplay never fully developed the emotional impact of the villagers' struggle.

Ram Charan's Performance

If there is one reason to watch Peddi, it is Ram Charan.

His screen presence is outstanding throughout the film. Whether it is his dialogue delivery, emotional scenes, action sequences, or sports performances, he gives everything to the character.

Physically, he looks exceptional. The transformation he has undergone for the role is clearly visible, and it adds authenticity to many sequences.

However, my concern is not with Ram Charan's performance but with the writing.

The film shows him excelling in three completely different sports—cricket, wrestling, and athletics. While each sequence is entertaining individually, the screenplay never convincingly explains how he becomes an elite athlete in all three disciplines within such a short period.

For me, this made parts of the story difficult to believe.

Janhvi Kapoor's Character

Janhvi Kapoor has very limited scope in the film.

Her introduction focuses heavily on glamour rather than establishing her character. Personally, I felt the introduction did little to explain who she is or why she is important to the overall story.

The romantic track between Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor also feels rushed. Their relationship develops very quickly, and I never felt emotionally invested in it.

One particular scene involving their first interaction may divide audiences. In my opinion, the relationship could have been written with more emotional depth instead of relying on dramatic moments.

Later in the film, there is another controversial sequence where political rivals publicly humiliate her during a public gathering. While the scene establishes the cruelty of the antagonists, I personally felt it could have been handled with greater restraint.

By the end of the movie, I felt that the heroine's role had very little influence on the central narrative. The story would have remained largely unchanged even with a significantly reduced romantic subplot.

Sports Sequences

One of the major selling points of Peddi is its sports backdrop.

The cricket portions are entertaining and provide several enjoyable mass moments.

The wrestling sequences, however, did not leave the same impact as some of the best sports films I have watched. Naturally, comparisons arise with films like Sultan, where the wrestling portions feel more grounded and emotionally engaging.

The athletics portion, especially the climax race, is where I found the film becoming unrealistic.

Without revealing major spoilers, the final race depends more on cinematic heroism than believable sporting action. Because of this, the emotional payoff did not work for me.

The Emotional Core

The biggest disappointment for me is the emotional connection.

The villagers' struggle should have been the heart of the film. They face genuine hardships, including lack of transport and government recognition.

Unfortunately, I never truly felt their pain.

The screenplay spends a significant amount of time on commercial elements like hero elevation, action, and romance, while the emotional struggles of the villagers receive comparatively less attention.

If the emotional foundation had been stronger, the climax would have carried much greater impact.

Direction and Screenplay

Director Buchi Babu Sana deserves appreciation for choosing a socially relevant subject instead of making a routine commercial entertainer.

However, I felt the screenplay tries to balance too many genres at once.

The film shifts between sports drama, village politics, romance, social issues, action, and commercial hero moments. As a result, none of these aspects reaches its full potential.

The screenplay also contains several moments where logic takes a back seat to cinematic convenience.

Music and Technical Aspects

A. R. Rahman's music works well in several places and supports the emotional tone of the film.

The cinematography captures the rural setting beautifully.

The production values are excellent throughout the movie, and visually, Peddi looks like a large-scale production.

Action choreography is entertaining, although some sequences feel exaggerated.

If you are looking for a realistic sports drama with strong emotional storytelling, Peddi may leave you wanting more. But if your primary interest is watching Ram Charan deliver another energetic performance, the film has enough moments to keep you engaged.

Plot

The story revolves around the murder of Vikram's former professor, who is killed shortly after withdrawing his Provident Fund (PF) money. The investigation focuses on discovering who committed the crime, how it was executed, and the motive behind it. Although the case is assigned to Suresh by Jansi instead of Vikram, Vikram gradually takes the lead in uncovering the truth. With help from the HUNT team, the police eventually identify the culprit and bring the criminal to justice before the end of Episode 76.

What Works

The decision to complete the investigation within four episodes is the strongest aspect of this week's release. It avoids unnecessary cliffhangers and gives viewers a satisfying conclusion. The investigation itself is reasonably engaging, and the pacing remains steady throughout the four episodes.

What Doesn't Work

The biggest issue continues to be the writing. Vikram is portrayed as the only truly intelligent officer, while almost every other police officer appears incapable of solving even basic problems. Suresh, despite being trusted with the case, comes across as an ineffective officer who contributes very little. This weakens the credibility of the police department shown in the series.

Another major drawback is the cybercrime investigation. Ali, the cyber expert, seems capable of obtaining any information instantly using his laptop or iPad. Whether it's hacking phones, tracking locations, retrieving CCTV footage, or accessing private information, everything happens almost magically. This feels highly unrealistic and reduces the authenticity of the investigation.

The series also suffers from predictability. Viewers no longer wonder whether Vikram will solve the case—they already know he will. The only mystery is how he will solve it. This predictable formula reduces suspense with every passing week. Introducing situations where Vikram makes mistakes or even loses occasionally would make the character feel more human and create stronger tension.

Performances

Vikram once again carries the series, but his performance feels repetitive. His expressions, dialogue delivery, and body language remain almost identical across episodes. Greater emotional variation would make the character more convincing.

Jansi's character also continues to feel underutilized. When she was introduced, it seemed like she would have a significant role because of her past connection with Vikram and her adopted daughter. However, she mostly appears in uniform, gives instructions, and has very little impact on the story.

Unresolved Storylines

The larger story of Vikram's suspension has barely moved forward. The audience is still waiting to see whether he will officially return to duty, but the series continues to focus on standalone investigations instead of progressing the central narrative.

Similarly, the relationship between Vikram and Veda remains unresolved after their separation. There is also uncertainty about whether Vikram's connection with Jansi's adopted daughter will become important again. These emotional storylines have been pushed aside in recent episodes.
