After watching Episodes 73 to 76 of The Resort, I can say this week's episodes are among the most interesting so far. Several long-pending mysteries are finally answered, emotional moments are handled well, and the episodes end with multiple cliffhangers that make me excited for next week's release.
Story
The biggest highlight of these episodes is the revelation of what actually happened to Chidambaram. From the beginning of the series, viewers have been waiting to know why he never returned to his family, why he remained in jail, and what really led to that situation.
These episodes finally answer those questions. We get to see how Chidambaram ended up in jail, who was responsible behind the scenes, why he never revealed the truth, and why nobody came looking for him during that period. It is satisfying to finally receive answers after so many episodes, making this one of the strongest portions of the story so far.
Another important track focuses on Rajan and Rhea. Rajan finally opens up about his feelings for Rhea. What impressed me most was the writing of this scene. Instead of a typical cinematic proposal, the conversation feels genuine and natural. Writer Vijay Kumar deserves appreciation for presenting emotions through realistic dialogue rather than exaggerated romance. The confession scene feels heartfelt and believable.
Meanwhile, Nedumaran discovers the reason behind the negative review connected to the pantry. His ego becomes more evident as he wants the pantry to come under his kitchen so that he can defeat Vetri. Since the pantry is generating huge success despite being much smaller than the kitchen, Nedumaran finds it difficult to accept that success. His determination to take control of the pantry creates another interesting conflict.
On the other hand, Aishu's past returns unexpectedly when her former boyfriend visits the resort. He is also a chef and explains the reasons why he disappeared from her life for so many years. This creates emotional confusion and opens another interesting storyline.
The Priya-Veni subplot also moves forward. Priya secretly enters a room and takes photographs, making her intentions look suspicious. Veni notices her actions and realizes that something is not right. This storyline may become important in the coming episodes.
Multiple Cliffhangers
The episodes conclude with several cliffhangers that keep the audience engaged.
The first major cliffhanger revolves around Chidambaram's past. Now that the truth has come out, the consequences of those past events begin affecting Nedumaran. It appears that he wants history to repeat itself by making Chidambaram cook once again. What happens next remains to be seen.
Another cliffhanger is Rajan and Rhea's relationship. Rajan has finally confessed his feelings, but whether Rhea accepts them or not is still unknown.
The Sous Chef competition is another major point of excitement. Aishu is working extremely hard because she desperately wants to become the Sous Chef. Vetri is equally determined to participate in the competition. It will be interesting to see who succeeds.
Aishu's former boyfriend returning to the resort adds another unanswered question. What impact will he have on Aishu's future?
One of the biggest emotional shocks comes when Ramya tells Aishu that she loves Vetri and asks for her support. Aishu is visibly shocked but hides her true emotions behind a fake smile. This moment creates one of the strongest emotional cliffhangers of the week.
Finally, the biggest cliffhanger arrives when Raghupathi, the owner of the resort, suddenly collapses inside his office. His condition is left unknown, making viewers eager for the next set of episodes.
Performances
The cast continues to perform naturally. The emotional scenes involving Rajan and Rhea stand out because of their realistic dialogue delivery. The actors successfully make the conversations feel believable rather than dramatic.
The emotional reactions from Aishu during the final moments are also convincing, especially when she hears Ramya confess her love for Vetri.
Writing & Screenplay
The screenplay remains engaging throughout all four episodes. The writers successfully balance mystery, romance, emotional drama and workplace conflicts without making the episodes feel slow.
I particularly liked how several unanswered questions were finally resolved while simultaneously introducing new mysteries for future episodes.
Technical Aspects
The technical department deserves appreciation.
The cinematography looks neat and visually pleasing. Lighting throughout the episodes suits the mood perfectly.
The background music is another major strength. Whether it is romance, emotional conversations, tension, anger or suspense, the music supports every situation very well and enhances the overall viewing experience.
Comedy
Another positive aspect is the comedy involving Pandi. His scenes provide light-hearted entertainment between the emotional and serious moments. I personally feel the makers should include even more humour in future episodes. A few extra comedy scenes would make the series even more enjoyable instead of focusing only on emotional drama and sentiment.
Season 2 Thoughts
The director has mentioned that there could be a Season 2. Personally, I feel it would be better if the current storyline reaches a satisfying conclusion within Season 1 itself. Season 2 could then introduce a fresh story instead of stretching the same plot unnecessarily. Ultimately, it depends on the writer and director, so we will have to wait and see how they handle it.
