Vikram on Duty continues to move in an interesting direction, and this week’s episodes once again deliver a complete case with a proper conclusion. One of the biggest improvements in the series is the way each week’s storyline is now being handled.
Earlier, we had situations where a case would begin in one episode, continue through the following episodes, and leave us waiting another week to find out how Vikram would finally solve it. That approach sometimes made the pacing feel stretched.
But now, the series seems to have found a better format.
Each week brings a clear case, develops it across the episodes, and gives it a proper conclusion by the end. At the same time, the preview for the following week introduces a completely new situation. This makes the series much more engaging because there is both closure for the current case and curiosity about the next one.
Roshan Is Framed for Murder
This week's case revolves around Roshan, the son of Head Constable Ranga Rao.
Roshan finds himself in serious trouble after being framed for a murder that he did not commit. The circumstances and evidence all seem to point towards him, making him the obvious suspect.
With Roshan trapped in a situation where it appears that everything is against him, Ranga Rao turns to Vikram and his team for help.
Vikram begins investigating the case, examines the available evidence and slowly starts connecting the missing pieces. Eventually, the actual culprit and the reason behind the murder are revealed, and Roshan is finally released.
As we have come to expect from Vikram, he once again manages to crack the case.
Vikram Still Carries the Investigation
One thing that continues to stand out is how much of the investigation depends on Vikram.
He is still the person who comes up with most of the ideas, connects the clues and ultimately solves the case. None of the other members of the team seem to get enough opportunity to contribute.
However, this week there was at least one welcome change.
Ranga Rao comes up with a couple of ideas during the investigation, which gives his character slightly more involvement. It would be good to see more of this in future episodes.
The entire team doesn't necessarily have to solve the case, but giving them meaningful dialogue and allowing them to contribute to the investigation would make the police team feel much more realistic.
Where Is the Commissioner?
Another noticeable point this week is the absence of much involvement from the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner.
Previously, we have seen their characters appear around the investigation, but their involvement hasn't always added much to the story. This week, the series largely avoids that unnecessary involvement, and honestly, I didn't really miss it.
Characters such as Jansi, who appear to have important positions, need to have something meaningful to contribute. Otherwise, they can end up feeling like characters who are simply present in the background.
So, while I don't mind the reduced involvement of the higher officials, I would rather see the existing team members being given stronger roles in the actual investigation.
The Series Is Avoiding Unnecessary Drama
This is probably one of the biggest positives of the recent episodes.
Earlier, there were signs that the series might move towards unnecessary family drama, romantic tracks or comedy portions. Some of those scenes didn't really work and felt like distractions from the main police-investigation storyline.
Thankfully, the series seems to be moving away from that approach.
There is no unnecessary romantic drama dominating the story, and the focus remains on the case.
We have also seen earlier episodes introduce people from other departments or agencies whenever a case required it. Sometimes characters from other districts or departments would enter the story, which could make the investigation feel unnecessarily complicated.
This week, the series keeps things much more focused.
Vikram and his team investigate the case, find the truth and bring it to a conclusion.
That simplicity actually works.
A Tech-Driven Investigation
The investigation this week was also interesting because of the technical aspect of the case.
Rather than simply relying on emotional drama or someone suddenly confessing, the story focuses on finding out who committed the crime, how it was done and why it happened.
The investigation gradually answers those questions, and that keeps the episodes moving.
Most importantly, there wasn't much unnecessary dragging.
I was able to watch the episodes without feeling that the same information was being repeated again and again. The case kept progressing until it reached its conclusion.
That's exactly what I would like to see from Vikram on Duty going forward.
The Ending Could Have Had More Emotion
There was one area where I felt the episode could have done better.
After Roshan is finally released, I expected a stronger emotional moment between Ranga Rao and his son.
Considering the situation Roshan had gone through and the fact that Ranga Rao had personally sought Vikram's help, there was an opportunity for a more emotional father-son scene.
Instead, the resolution felt relatively straightforward.
A little more sentiment and emotional payoff at that point would have made the ending more satisfying.
The Preview Makes Next Week Interesting
The preview for next week is probably the most interesting part after the conclusion of this week's case.
It appears that Vikram will once again come face-to-face with the person who previously prevented him from becoming a police officer.
This immediately raises several questions.
Will Vikram finally be able to convince her and get the opportunity to wear the police uniform again?
Or is there something much bigger behind the shooting and the circumstances surrounding his career?
There could potentially be a conspiracy that we haven't seen yet.
I don't want to make any assumptions at this point, but the preview definitely gives us enough reason to look forward to next week's episodes.
Music Needs Improvement
One area where the series could definitely improve is the music.
The background score doesn't always make a strong impact, especially during scenes that could benefit from more tension or emotion.
For a police investigation series, the music can play an important role in creating suspense and making key moments more effective.
So I would like to see some improvement in the background score in the upcoming episodes.
The dialogue department could also be improved. Vikram gets most of the important lines, while other characters often remain silent or have very little to contribute.
Giving the supporting characters stronger dialogue would make the overall team dynamic much more interesting.
Final Verdict
Overall, this week's Vikram on Duty was another interesting watch.
The biggest positive is that the series is now finding a better weekly structure. Each case gets enough time to develop, the mystery is solved within the week's episodes, and the next week's preview immediately creates another reason to continue watching.
There is also much less unnecessary family drama, romance and comedy, which is a welcome change.
The main areas that still need improvement are the supporting characters, background music and emotional depth in certain scenes.
But overall, the series is moving in the right direction.
The next big question is no longer just about another murder case.
Will Vikram get his police uniform back?
What exactly happened behind the shooting?
And is there a bigger conspiracy waiting to be revealed?
The preview has certainly made next week interesting.
